I had a conversation with my mother over the phone, and I remembered her saying she really never had been to Cancun. Also, this year, I wanted to gift my parents a cool trip, and I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to book a trip this Summer.
I went on to www.expedia.com and started to search flights + stay packages for the month of June. This was the start and I never looked back. The process if fairly simple. All you have to do is input the dates, the number of people, and the number of rooms you desire. You can input more data such as "all inclusive" etc..and this is what I did. I wanted to be all inclusive so that I did not have to think about picking places for restaurant every day.
For our Stay, I picked the Ocean Coral & Turquesa All Inclusive Resort from June 6-14. It is beach front, rated family friendly and has over 2400 reviews with an 8.4****/10 score. The Buffet food is great with lots of options. See the multiples videos in this blog post.
We also book via www.expedia.com private shuttle transportation to the resort and back for our group of 6 people. All you have to do is just search for travel transportation and select private that way you do not have to share with other travelers and make your trip longer with additional stops. It does not cost that much more and it is worth spending the extra cost.
To help you review the Ocean Coral & Turquesa All Inclusive resort from my point of view, I have inserted several photos and videos for your viewing. This can help you decide to book a stay or find another resort.

Our first day at Ocean Coral & Turquesa Resort
This is definitely a great place to stay for all types of families. There are so many night activities for the younger children with live performances and games. We saw lots of young families with babies, multi-generation families, and also adults and young groups of adults. I also wanted to let you know that there was a section for the younger adults that enjoyed the "party" vibe atmosphere. There are 3 main pools, the pool depicted here was calmer, and since this was booked for a multi-generational family (my kids, my parents and myself and husband), we preferred the main pool area. The other pool had a bar, music, and definitely favored by the young twenties to late thirties.
So overall, there is a place for everyone. I hope my review will help you decide whether or not this place is for you. Please use my Expedia Links to book your future travels or your stay here at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa All Inclusive resort.

View of the Main Pool- It is clean. You get your towels located in the right inside in the back of the pool. You just need to give your room number, and there are always plenty of seating available. Remember to return your towels when you are finished at the pool.
This is the view of the Reception Area where there is an Open bar. It has lots of seating place for your conversations. We enjoyed hanging out in this area when we were planning our excursions and having a drink.
There is a great selection in the morning for your breakfast. The staff will seat you and bring you your drinks (coffee or water etc..)
Yes, for those of you who like to have Bloody Mary for breakfast...
Lunch Buffet at the resort. Very copious.
There is an amazing selection of types of food for the lunch buffet. What I really liked seeing in the buffet was the selection of fruits and vegetables available for consumption. Servers will bring you water, wine, or choice of drinks.
If you would like to have a fresh brewed coffee, this is the best place to get it at the resort. Don't forget to tip.
Ocean Coral & Turquesa All Inclusive It is rated on as a 8.4/10 **** on www.expedia.com with over 2400 reviews. The reason why I booked this place for vacationing was because of the great overall reviews and the proximity to the Morelos beach.
Upon arrival, you check-in pretty fast and your receive a wristlet band for your room- You can not remove it during your stay and it identifies you as a guest of the resort. The rooms are comparatively twice the size of a hotel room but the style feels outdated. Nonetheless, it is spacious, clean and more than sufficient for a couple. The Air Conditioning runs but you also need to run a dehumidifier provided in the room. There is a one time complimentary wine bottle as a welcome gift. There are also water bottles provided everyday with your daily cleaning service.
However, I did not know that there was an algae situation going on in Mexico. The beach was not usable because there was an abundance of Sargasum Seaweed which was not cleaned up. Apparently, there is a typical seaweed season which runs from May to October. While some hotels and resorts actively clean the beaches, the amount of seaweed can vary greatly and is influenced by wind and ocean currents.
Nonetheless, regardless of the seaweed situation, the resort itself is safe, beautiful, and peaceful. It is an ALL inclusive resort. Anywhere you go, drinks and food are included.
So, for those of you who like to drink, go the bar upstairs at the main entrance/reception. It is an open elegant space with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy a drink. I also wanted to mention that my son, Jeremiah, had the bartender refill his water daily in his personal water bottle, and my mother liked having her bubbly water refilled in her water bottle, too. The water in the restaurants on site is safe to drink.
The places to eat at the resort have business hours. The main buffet place has a breakfast/lunch/dinner hours. All you have to do is arrive and let them know your room number and you get seated and you can start enjoying the food.
There are also plenty of restaurants where you can have a more personalized dining experience. You just need to make a reservation the morning of your dinner date. There is a French, Mexican, Greek, Italian and Japanese restaurant option. Beware that the service is slow but if you have time to seat and enjoy this type of service, then make sure to plan accordingly. We tried the Japanese and French, and quite frankly, I would have rather eaten at the buffet because the menu option is limited for the private dining experience.
My advice to you is to dress casual nice minimum to be presentable no matter which place you eat. You will be seated at a better location. Even though the Ocean Coral & Turquesa resort is ALL INCLUSIVE, have some dollars of pesos to tip the staff whether at the bar, buffet or restaurant. The staff works hard for the tourists. There is a coffee place on the resort that I absolutely enjoyed, and I always tipped the person making the fresh coffee. It is not required, but it is appreciated. Be generous and only if you feel like it. Giving is really an act of love.
The resort has plenty of activities for families, kids and it is part of the stay when you book with them. We enjoyed an Aerial Silk performance for the guests staying at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa resort
We booked the stay for 8 nights and it felt a little long. I think that you should book 3 nights but no more than 5 nights. You need a rental car to get out or plan accordingly for exploring outside the resort.
There was a fun family friendly show at the pool one evening at the resort.
-- We watched acrobatics in the air. It is referred to an aerial silk performance where artists are using fabrics to climb and twist, pose, while performing in the air.
--The final show was a robot propelled in the air, and it was quite entertaining.
Aerial Silks Performance
This was hard to believe that she was hanging by her hair and a silk rope.

My father absolutely enjoyed the hammocks on site at the resort. There are located right on the beach, a few steps away from the pool.
Booking our trip via www.expedia.com is the first step to look for your destination, and book your travel, airfare and stay. Once you secure your travel package, you also need to book your round trip shuttle airport transportation to the resort hotel you are vacationing.
I always suggest you spend the extra bit of money to make it private- especially if you have a large group traveling like ours. We were six total. You could also book a rental car.
The process is fairly simple, when you go to Expedia, click on the tab that says "cars" and select either rental car Roundtrip airport transportation. Input your data, which is your arrival and departure time, the airport and voila. You are all set. Make sure to save all your Confirmation.
The great thing about having all your travel plan with Expedia, is that all your information for the trip is accessible through their website once you create an account or link your email account to the website. You can retrieve information about your past trips as well.
Our Shuttle driver picked us up, and he basically talked to us about all the places we could visit during our stay. He ran his own company Giovanni Tour- He offered to take us all on a private 1 day tour to see the Temple of Kukulkan at Chichen Itza, swim in a private Cenote location, eat in a local restaurant and visit a nearby town and bring us back to our resort in the evening. This tour included a private guide, ticket entrances to locations and restaurant. The cost was $220/person.
On this blog post, "Private Tour Guide for Chichen Itza and Cenotes: Is it Worth the cost? " I will go into the details of our visit to Chichen Itza, the visit of the Maya Ruins and Cenotes with a private tour guide. I will give you tips and our tour guide contact info.
We also planned a full day at "Las Isla Mujeres" , bought our tickets to get to the island and rented a golf cart for the day.
The rest of the week was spent relaxing at the resort. The weather was sunny and hot. It was an overall relaxing vacation.
I now invite you to book your personal stay at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa All Inclusive Resort.
You may find a good deal if you travel off peak season. I also recommend that you spend the extra money to protect your travel plan to get a full refund if something happened otherwise, you may not get your money back.
Sometimes, you just need to relax and enjoy the company. My father really loved the hammocks and in the evening, he loved going there to rest and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Simply living in the moment.
