Bon Ami Hotel, Ho Chi Minh, District 1- Vietnam

Bon Ami Lobby

When I logged into my Expedia account, I was looking for a budget friendly hotel in Ho Chi Minh. I needed to book 4 rooms for 14 days and it needed to be in the center of Ho Chi Minh in District 1.

Bon Ami Hotel, a 3 stars hotel, is located 2 min away from Ben Than Market, 3 min away from Saigon Square, and is directly located across a convenient store and a Travel Agency to help plan your activities if you need help. It is surrounded by restaurants, cafés, nail salons and souvenir stores.

It is rated excellent with a rating of 8.8/10.

You will be able to pick your room based on your budget and also amenities. The cheapest rooms have no windows, however, if you can, I would suggest you book a room with a window.

When you book, there is the fully refundable option, and I highly recommend you pick this option in case you have a change of plan.
Please note-** this hotel books fast because it is affordable and conveniently located in District 1. Book early, and explore all options

Check-in - 2pm

Check-out- noon

Keep in mind that this is a 3 star hotel that is conveniently and centrally located in District 1. This is not a luxurious hotel, so do not expect top quality furniture and up-to-date interior design. If this is important to you, there are more options available to you on expedia at a different price. If you are on a budget, this is a perfect hotel that does offer all the basics with an extremely kind staff that will accommodate your needs if they can.

For example, my husband and I were assigned a room away from our children, on the last floor. We mentioned wanting to be closer to them, and when they could, they moved us. It was not immediate, but since we were there for two weeks, they were able to move us a few days later when a room became available. Keep in mind, this hotel has a high occupancy in general.

Breakfast on 1st floor- 7am to 10am

Traditional Vietnamese Breakfast served daily from 7am-10am. Located on the 1st floor.

This breakfast was good, homemade everyday, and fresh. If you like Vietnamese food, you will like it. As you enter the breakfast area, you will have to give the staff member your room number and find a seating area. There are plenty of seats for the guests.

What was served and varied daily: Pho, rice, fried rice, ban cuon, some sort of chicken dish, vegetables, Vietnamese eggs, freshly cut fruits, salads, soups, bread, coffee, juice, tea.

This breakfast should last you at least until lunch time or even dinner time if you only twice a day versus three times a day.

Final thoughts

Deluxe Twim Room (with window)/ Street View

Bon Ami Hotel doesn't play elevator music, but it plays peace and feelings. There is no roof top bar, but you can quietly enjoy an evening in the lobby and have a drink there at the bar or bring your own bottle. No one will judge.

Expect daily room service unless you put a no disturb sign, just because you want your solitude and privacy.

Bon Ami Hotel is not for everyone, but for our family it was perfect. We had four rooms booked for two weeks. We took two multiple days side trips, and we left the bulk of our belongings in Bon Ami Hotel while traveling away from Ho Chi Minh, and we did not mind it because it is so affordable. It was a place home away from home.
